How to access your COVID-19 vaccination status
You can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App from 17 May. You can access the app through mobile devices such as a smartphone or by tablet. Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will be shown within the NHS App. We recommend that you register with the app before booking international travel.
If you do not have access to a smartphone and know that the country you are travelling to requires COVID-19 vaccination status, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine. We expect the letter to take up to 5 days to reach you.
Do not contact your GP surgery about your COVID-19 vaccination status. GPs cannot provide letters showing your COVID-19 vaccination status.

December 2020 Update
COVID-19 Vaccinations have started across the borough with patients aged over 85, Healthcare Staff and Care Home workers. We are working with Rochdale Health Alliance, the local GP Federation, to deliver the COVID vaccination programme for our patients. Rochdale Health Alliance will be contacting our eligible patients from today and over the coming weeks to offer you an appointment for the COVID vaccination. This may be by a telephone call or via a text message that offers you the option of booking online. You will be asked some simple questions to ensure that you are able to have the vaccine and will then book the appointment with you. You do not need to contact the practice.

Important Information about the Coronavirus (COVID-19)
November 2020 Update
As you will be aware the government has announced a national lockdown from 5th November to the 2nd December 2020. Within the announcement the government has clarified that there will be no shielding category as there was in the first wave but they will be writing out to patient who due to their medical conditions will be defined within a 'Clinically Extremely Vulnerable' group.

Shielding Letters for Employers
Flu clinics are now open. Eligible groups this year include:
- Patients at risk Chronic respiratory conditions, Chronic heart disease, chronic kidney disease, chronic liver disease, chronic neurological disease, diabetes
- Severe obesity (BMI over 40)
We have also been asked to vaccinate non at risk patients age 50 to 65, and household members of patients who at High Risk of COVID (Patients who were shielding). At this moment we are waiting for further guidance and vaccine stock availability for both of these groups, please do not telephone the surgery for an appointment, we will contact you when we have more information.
The queuing system into the surgery will be kept to 2 metre distance and patients will be expected to wear face mask/coverings.
Please can we ask that :-
- When you are given an appointment time, do not arrive too early or too late, we won’t be able to see you until your appointment time. This is mainly due to the volume of patients we are having to see and the recording of accurate data.
- If you feel unwell on the day of your appointment, please do not attend, even if you are unable to cancel your appointment, we will contact you and re-book when you are feeling better. If you attend the surgery with a temperature we will ask you to go home, this is to protect our staff and our patients.
- Please wear loose fitting clothes so it is easy to reach the arm of your choice
- Please wear face covering when attending the surgery and keep this on until you exit the premises.

Corona Virus Information
The NHS in Heywood, Middleton Rochdale and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.
The risk to the general public is moderate. If you have arrived back to the UK from mainland China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia or Macau within 14 days, follow the specific advice for returning travellers.
Call 111 now if you've been:
- to Wuhan or Hubei Province in China in the last 14 days (even if you do not have symptoms)
- to other parts of China, including Macau and Hong Kong, in the last 14 days and have a cough, high temperature or shortness of breath (even if it's mild)
- to Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Republic of Korea or Malaysia in the last 14 days and have a cough, high temperature or shortness of breath (even if it's mild)
- in close contact with someone with confirmed coronavirus
Do not go to a GP surgery, community pharmacy or hospital. Call 111, stay indoors and avoid close contact with other people.

Like the common cold, coronavirus infection usually occurs through close contact with a person with novel coronavirus via cough and sneezes or hand contact. A person can also be infected by touching contaminated surfaces if they do not wash their hands.
The risk of being in close contact with a person with coronavirus or contaminated surfaces is very low at the current time, as members of the public who have visited Wuhan or Hubei province, China are currently in isolation.
Testing of suspected coronavirus cases is carried out in line with strict regulations. This means that suspected cases are kept in isolation, away from public areas of the hospital and returned home also in isolation. Any equipment that come into contact with suspected cases are thoroughly cleaned as appropriate. Specific guidance has also been shared with NHS staff to help safeguard them and others. Patients can be reassured that their safety is a top priority, and are encouraged to attend all appointments as usual.
Everyone is being reminded to follow Public Health England advice to:
- Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.

As from the 1st November 2019, the practice will no longer take prescription orders over the phone.
We kindly advise to either nominate a pharmacy, or you can bring the right hand side of your repeat prescription to the reception desk. You can also register online to order your repeat prescriptions.

Inspire Medical Centre is involved in training 4th and 5th Year Medical students who work at the practice whilst undertaking their placement training. Medical Students are able to see patients independently whilst training, receiving supervision from the GP Trainer/Supervisor.

Occasionally we have medical / Work Experience students attached to the practice who sit in with the doctors during their consultations. If you wish to see your doctor alone please tell the receptionist and this will be arranged.

GP online services allow you to access a range of services via your computer, mobile or tablet. Once you have signed up, you will be able to:
- Book or cancel appointments online
- Order repeat prescriptions online
- View parts of your GP record, including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results
- Change your address, email details or telephone number
- Send us secure messages about your condition online.
How to sign-up
For more information, please contact reception or next time you visit the surgery, bring with you a piece of photo ID (passport, driving licence) and something with your address on like a bank statement, gas or electricity bill. If you don’t have these, please talk to us and we will help you sign-up.
You will then be issued with a letter giving your details to use when registering for the services using the links below. You can create your own password for ease of use in future.
Please bear in mind, if web appointments are not booked by the morning of that day at 8.30am, they will be available for the reception team to book on the phone or at the desk.
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
This practice is now able to offer the Electronic Prescription Service, so if you nominated a pharmacy, your GP will send all future prescriptions electronically to your preferred pharmacy.
